DTS DDoS Protection

DTS DDoS
Protection

The threat
of cyber-attacks is increasing almost every day, and they can pose a serious financial,
as well as reputational, risk to your business if you do not have the necessary
cyber security in place to ensure your critical data is protected.

As a
business focused ISP, not only do we deliver a robust, high capacity network to
our customers for them to enjoy full speed internet access at all times, we
also have a focus on security, in particular shielding our customers as best as
we possibly can from a specific cyber threat: DDoS attacks.

What
is a DDoS attack?

Simply put,
a DDoS (or Distributed Denial of Service) attack is an attempt from a
cyber-criminal who wants to bombard critical networking infrastructure or
websites your business may operate, with an excess amount of data packets at an
extremely high volume.

Usually the
cyber-criminals aim is fairly simple: They want to disrupt, or completely take
offline, the targeted infrastructure within a network, and they do this by scanning
for exposed vulnerabilities within their targets own cyber security.

Needless to
say, if the DDoS attack is successful, it can be crippling to your business
operations, which is why we have invested heavily to ensure we mitigate DDoS
attacks from reaching our customers critical infrastructure, as well as our
own!

DTS
Internet with DDoS Protection

All DTS
internet customers have DDoS protection on their IP Transit, or internet
access, whereby we can mitigate DDoS attacks before they reach our IP Transit network,
and crucially protect our internet customers from these types of cyber-attacks
by filtering out the attack at the border.

Our stringent monitoring of our IP Transit scans for sudden irregular spikes
in bandwidth consumption or requests to a specific IP address from unwanted
‘actors’, and those attempts are shut down accordingly, before they become a
problem to you and your business.

We are
proud of our DDoS protection service, although with cyber criminals becoming
increasingly savvy in how they can potentially mitigate their targets own cyber
security systems, we cannot guarantee 100% protection to our customers.

Therefore, it is strongly recommended that you engage with your IT support or managed service
provider to complete a health check of your business infrastructure and where
necessary, have them apply any security patches to protect you and
your business from the many cyber threats that are out there today.
